76 stitches?

Hi, thanks for the welcome. I am still deliberating the choice of yarn, but mostly because I can not wrap my mind around the 76 stitches we are supposed to cast on. I normally knit my socks with 56 stitches on 2.5mm needles and 20 stitches is quite a difference, even though I know cables and colorwork make it tighter. I am working up to that necessary leap of faith and will likely use smaller needles. Let's see how I like it then.

I am a VERY loose knitter, and i went one size down on the needles, and they turned out slightly tight. If you are a tight knitter, or even usually get gauge, I would suggest staying with the needle size suggested. Those cables shrink things down a lot more than you think.

You will definitely need them. I have a very strong calf and am debating if I should not cast on more and change the pattern accordingly.
